WMS/Iles 6th Grade Girls Basketball will be held this Thursday 8/28/25 in the Washington Middle School gym from 2:30 - 4:00. There will be an activity bus to take you home after practice.

The JMS/WMS baseball game scheduled for tonight in Greenview has been moved to Rotary (4501 W. Iles) field #3 and it will now be played at 4:30.

The WMS/JMS baseball game scheduled for tonight 8/18 has been canceled due to the heat. We are in the process of rescheduling this game.

First Day of School Monday, Aug 18. Doors Open at 7:30 am. Classes start at 8:00 am.

The WMS Summer Program will be held at WMS starting June 9 through June 27th. The program will operate from 8:00 AM--12:00 PM. Breakfast and lunch will be served daily. Transportation will also be provided for participating students. The WMS Summer Program is designed to assist your student with staying engaged with academic and enrichment material after the school year has ended. The track meet scheduled for tonight in Jacksonville has been canceled. The boys track team will have practice at WMS from 2:30 -4. The girls sprinters will practice at WMS from 2;30-4.

Springfield High School will be hosting Activities Night in the SHS Commons on Wednesday, 3/26/25 at 6:00 pm. This is an opportunity for incoming SHS freshmen to learn about the extracurricular activities available for students at Springfield High School. There will be a representative from each sport or club available to answer any questions you might have. The entrance to the Commons is off of Washington Street.

This is an annual survey from the Illinois State Board of Education that gathers data about school effectiveness. Please take the parent response part of the survey. The 7th/8th grade girls volleyball game scheduled for today 2/13 against LMS has been rescheduled for 2/19. The game will begin at 4:30 at Springfield Ball Charter 2530 E Ash St, Springfield, IL 62703)

Dear WMS Families, Wednesday, February 12th is an E-Learning Day. All students stay home today due to pending weather conditions. WMS students should: 1. Log into the District info system to verify attendance and into Canvas before 2:00 p.m. 2. Complete assigned work from each class through Canvas. 3. Students may communicate with their teachers via email or Google Meets at the designated times (check communication from each teacher through Canvas). If your student forgot their Chromebook at school and does not have a phone or alternate home computer to log in and complete work, notify the teacher via email. Do not send students to school to retrieve their Chromebook as weather conditions prevent safe traveling and school doors are locked. Thank you! Stay safe and warm today.
